Nursing RN AAS Occupation Overview

Degrees & Certificates

Medical Assistant
AAS - Associate of Applied Science

This is a two year program, designed to allow a student to become a Certified Medical Assistant in year one and then continue on to obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree. This program is designed to ensure a graduate can work both the front office and the back office of a medical office.

Medical Assistant
1YR - Certificate (One Year)

This is a one-year State certificate that allows a student to become a Certified Medical Assistant in Oregon.

Nursing-RN
AAS - Associate of Applied Science

TVCC will be changing their AAS degree to move away from the Oregon Consortium of Nursing Educators. The old AAS degree will be sunset at the end of 2022-2023, after the current cohort is taught out.

Pre-Nursing
AAOT - Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer

We can help you customize your Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree from Treasure Valley Community College with an emphasis in Pre-Nursing. By earning an AAOT, you can save money on the first two years of your bachelor's degree before you transfer to a university. See an advisor for more options and information about how to design your AAOT with your transfer degree in mind.

Surgical Technologist
AAS - Associate of Applied Science

This Associate of Applied Science Degree for Surgical Technologist is designed to provide students with the knowledge and technical skills required to obtain entry-level employment in the field of Surgical Technology. The curriculum will prepare students in the areas of general and specialty surgical procedures, principles of anesthesia, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and surgical technology techniques.
