Burns Center

The Harney County Outreach Center offers a great location for students to attend college classes through Distance Education to earn a degree or to update their current skills, or take classes just for fun.  The Outreach Center also offers classes in Adult Basic Education.

Students may take classes through Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) or Eastern Oregon University (EOU).  The Outreach Center is conveniently located in Burns, adjacent to Burns HighSchool, on Hwy 20. 

Scholarships and financial aid are available for qualifying students.  Students have the option of taking classes at Treasure Valley Community College and Eastern Oregon University.

The Harney County Outreach Center enjoys significant support from the local community. Each year, the BLM Burns District donates a horse from the herd it manages to be raffled at the Harney County Fair to benefit scholarship funds for Harney County students.  In addition, the community hosts a number of other fundraisers throughout the year which help raise funds for local students to attend TVCC.

The Outreach Center offers proctored testing for TVCC and EOU students, we also offer Accuplacer testing for students needing to place into TVCC or EOU Math or English classes (we recomment that students request a testing slot a week ahead of time to ensure availability). TVCC-Burns is also a testing location for Oregon Department of Agriculture's pesticide applicator certification program.
