Annual Fall Fest highlights student activities, teams

Lyp Sync battle brings students, staff together for fun competition

To kick off the 2018-2019 school year, TVCC Student Activities team hosted the annual Chukar Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 2. The free BBQ, sponsored by the TVCC Foundation, is a great way to bring students, employees, and community members together for an evening to celebrate the new year.

The Associated Student Government’s theme for this upcoming year is “Limitless” and their planning and executing of this campus-wide event exceeded expectations again. The event features introductions of clubs, athletic teams, departments, and other organizations on campus. The goal is not to just showcase what’s available on campus for new students, but to also put some names and faces to teach club or organization so prospective members can get an idea of new opportunities.

Following the success of the format from last year, the Second Annual Lip Sync Battle was also featured at the event. Teams competed for the winning title, which went to Gina Roper, Lisa Meyer and Cathy Yasuda for their performance of the 1970s hit “Carwash.” Other activities included a photo booth, free Dutch Bros, a rock climbing wall and wipe-out obstacle course. A dance party finished up the evenings event.
