TVCC equity events to be held virtually
Public Information Office
Each year Treasure Valley Community College devotes a week to clebrate adn discuss
diversity through meetings, movies, events and other acitivites. With the social distancing
limits required by the Covid-19 situtaion, these engaging events will be taking place
virtually during the month of May.
These events are FREE and open to TVCC students, staff, faculty, and members of the
community. Please join conversations about the way identity affects access to civic
engagement and self-expression.

TVCC commencement postponed until 2021
As TVCC continues to respond to closures and government orders regrading Covid-19, the College has decided to postpone all Commencement activities and events scheduled for June 13, 2020. Since graduation ceremonies are one of the most exciting and gratifying events at TVCC, it is disappointing to not be able to recognize all of our students’ hard work and accomplishments at a public event. All 2020 graduates will be invited to next year's 2021 commencement ceremonies. TVCC will send a commemorative graduation program with student names and degrees along with other graduation gifts to each student in late June.Library hosts online story time
We want to make sure the TVCC Library is always somewhere you can go to find peace, even virtually. Starting next week, tune in to our Facebook Live Adult Story Time every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11 am. For about half and hour, we'll read poetry, short stories, and maybe a short novel or two. Let's find community, stay home, and stay healthy together. A friendly reminder to all students, faculty, and staff that TVCC is still offering career advising services via phone, email, and Zoom meetings for the remainder of Spring term.
Any student seeking career search/preparation assistance – such as preparing or editing resumes and cover letters, practicing for job or internship interviews, learning job search techniques/strategies, utilizing skill and career assessments, and more – is encouraged to make an individual appointment with TVCC Career Advisor Zach Widner at the contact info below, or to email him any materials they would like to have reviewed.
Among the unique services available to students are the Oregon Career Information System (CIS), and InterviewStream. The CIS program holds a wealth of information on numerous vocations, including education/training, salaries, projected job growth, etc., as well as a significant number of self-assessments that students can use to further investigate potential careers. InterviewStream allows students to take online mock interviews (via both existing general question sets or custom-made question sets for specific vocations), record their answers for review, and, if so desired, to have their mock interviews reviewed by TVCC’s Career Advisor.
A number of instructors have also incorporated CIS and InterviewStream-related assignments into their curricula, and faculty are encouraged to contact the TVCC Career Advisor if they have any interest in including career services materials in their respective courses.
