tournament of roses parade float

Linda Varnes is an adjunct art instructor at TVCC and when not teaching drawing or painting classes to students or hosting the Campus Christian Fellowship Club at the Caldwell Center, she heads to Pasadena, California each year over the winter break to volunteer as an official Petal Pusher. Linda is one of thousands of volunteers from across the U.S. and Canada who come together to design and decorate floats for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade. Linda's art designs have been included the Rose Parade's cloisonné, souvenir pins, and on Petal Pusher sweatshirts. 2020 marks the 37th year Linda has volunteered her artistic skills to this worthwhile cause and when not pushing petals, Linda illustrates and edits children's books.

(above picture: The underwater floral fantasy float included redwood bark, raisins, coffee, lemons, limes, pearl onions, brussel sprouts, proteas, and of course thousands of roses.)
