TVCC Announces Partnership with SkyWest Airlines

Ontario, OR – Treasure Valley Community College and SkyWest Airlines are teaming up to help TVCC aviation students launch a career with SkyWest Airlines after graduation.
The partnership, part of the SkyWest Airlines Pilot Pathway Program, provides a clear and direct path into an aviation career for TVCC’s aviation students.
SkyWest, a regional airline with almost 14,000 employees that operates more than 2,100 daily flights to over 250 destinations across North America, hosted TVCC students at its maintenance hangar in Boise in November. This tour and continuing meetings resulted in the official partnership agreement this month.
TVCC students in this new program receive several benefits including access to pilot mentors throughout their education, enhanced company seniority and a guaranteed final interview with SkyWest. Read more...

The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) has reaccredited Treasure Valley Community College on the basis of the Fall 2018 Year Seven Mission Fulfillment and Sustainability Evaluations.NWCCU announced the reaccreditation on Jan. 22, 2019. TVCC students and staff turned out to enjoy an afternoon of ice skating with the Chukar at the Indian Creek Plaza on Wednesday, January 16. Special thanks to Student Activities for hosting this fun event.
If you (or someone you know) are an Oregon resident and are receiving Food Stamps (SNAP) you may be eligible for additional education and training support services while attending classes at Treasure Valley Community College. Success coaching and student support, such as tuition, books, and transportation, is available to assist students as they build their skills, complete their GED, increase English communication fluency, earn college Career and Technical Education certificates (Career Pathways) and degrees, and access internships and jobs. The goal of the project is to increase equitable opportunity and economic mobility for SNAP students. Read more...

The process is a lot of fun and is a great way to develop a deeper understanding of the many challenges community college students face! Dinner is included. Student Activities will be hosting its 2nd Annual Sweethearts Dinner and Dance on Tuesday, February 12 starting at 7:30 p.m. This free event is open to TVCC students, faculty and staff and includes a catered dinner by Sodexo and live music.
