TVCC to Hold CARmencement Ceremony for Graduates

We are excited to be able to celebrate our students’ achievements with an in-person event! Graduates and their families are invited to participate in a drive-through ceremony on Friday, June 11, 2021 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the TVCC Weese parking area. Graduates will be able to leave their vehicle, walk across a stage, and receive their diplomas, all the while being cheered on by a gauntlet of faculty, staff, and board members. Invitations have also been extended to 2020 Graduates with the hope they will join us in this year’s commencement ceremony.

TVCC Hosts Spring Into Action April 19-30

Do you know a graduating senior who needs a plan for after high school? There is still time for the class of 2021 to apply for college and for financial aid to help pay for it. To help students with these steps, community colleges across the state, including Treasure Valley Community College and Oregon Goes To College are teaming up to host Spring Into Action April 19-30.

Virtual Advising Day for Summer & Fall Terms

Students interested in attending TVCC this summer or fall at the Ontario campus and/or at the TVCC Caldwell Center are reminded to mark their calendars for the virtual Advising Day set for Tuesday, May 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

2021 New Century Workforce Scholar

ASG President and TVCC student Hannah Berger was recently selected as a 2021 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar. The New Century Workforce Pathway Scholarship recognizes the most outstanding workforce-bound student from each state. Click here to read the press release.

Faculty Spotlight

During the TVCC Board of Education March 16, 2021 regular monthly meeting, Industrial Manufacturing Instructor Justin Blazzard received recognition for reaching tenure last year. During his presentation, Blazzard shared that from a young age he grew to love machinery and learning how various types of machines work. He commented that he appreciates his role as TVCC’s Industrial Manufacturing Instructor (IMAC) and hopes to continue to give his time and talents to building a great program at TVCC which ultimately leads to successful careers for our students.

Quality Matters!

Congratulations to TVCC Instructor Kilee Saldivar for passing a QM review for MA 112. The course passed the review with flying colors! Not only is this TVCC's sixth course to be certified under this rigorous, research-based program, but it is also the first time that a course passes with full points. All 42 rubric standards were met with approval from a team of peer reviewers who, for three long weeks, went through the MA 112 course with a fine-tooth comb and found no fault. We appreciate Kilee’s hard work to get her course ready for review and achieve this phenomenal milestone for TVCC! Kilee Saldivar is the fifth instructor at TVCC to get her course reviewed and acquire an in-depth knowledge of effective online course teaching and design. She joins instructors Arwyn Larson, Tanya Crawford, Tara Dominick, and Ted Fink in reaching QM course certification.

Student Housing Application Now Offered Online

To better serve students, TVCC has created an online student housing application and has eliminated the paper application process. Students will discover the new application process is more user friendly, seamless, and can be accessed anytime, anywhere. Residence Life is excited to have a single application submission process for students. Students interested in living in the TVCC Residence Halls can access detailed instructions about how to apply here
