Architects present initial design concepts for CTE building
After holding numerous campus and community listening sessions, CTA Architects shared
preliminary design concepts for the new TVCC Career & Technical Education Center at
the Chamber of Commerce lunch forum on Nov. 19. Community members and leaders were
given the latest information the new project and learn about next steps in the design
process. CTA Architects also shared the preliminary design ideas during the TVCC Board
of Education meeting on Nov. 20.

CTA Architects also walked the groups thorough what to expect next with the project
which includes schematic design, design development, construction documents, plan
review, bid and award and construction. Design concepts are being completed with more
public presentations planned for early next year
The timeline for the project is approximately 18 months. Contractor bids are expected to be selected January 2019 with construction and ground-breaking planned for March of 2019. The building is planned to be completed May 2020 with an estimated final move-in date in July 2020.
The $6 million project is funded by $3 million in capital construction from the State of Oregon and a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Economic Development Administration. TVCC also plans to raise another $200,000 for equipment for the state-of-the-art building.
During the remodel and expansion, current CTE staff and faculty offices have been relocated to the Oregon Trail Building. New office space, completed with internet connectivity, was also added to the TVCC Livestock Center to accommodate the move.
