There's nothing quite like your first year of college. New challenges and opportunities are waiting for you. This is an exciting time, but it can sometimes be a little scary, too. That's why we created the First-Year Experience (FYE) at Treasure Valley Community College. FYE is here to help you make a smooth and successful transition to college life. Participating in all the FYE programs and using the resources listed on these pages will help you build a foundation of success that will support you during your first year at TVCC, and all the way to graduation!
Developing effective study habits and relationships with instructors, peers and staff will set you up for future success. Take advantage of the many support services TVCC has to offer. Get to know your advisor and communicate with them frequently about your academic plan.
Develop social and professional networks that will benefit you post-graduation when you get involved in the clubs, organizations and leadership opportunities.
TVCC's staff and faculty is here to help you prepare for your future! Talk with them about career goals and options after you complete your degree or certification.
