SAFETY COMMITTEES:BEYOND COMPLIANCE
Course Description Too often we allow our safety committees to become stale. Traditional safety is driven by compliance and our desire to get employees to follow the rules and not make mistakes. We also tend to get frustrated when our “solutions” aren’t implemented by our leadership at the company. “Safety is the right thing to do” may make an OK slogan, or even a bland bumper sticker, but why are we surprised when management does not run with your or your safety committee’s recommendation when you tell them this? Communicating safety to management is more than just words; we can affect the overall safety culture (either for the positive or negative). This workshop is designed to help you go beyond compliance with your safety committee and expose methods of selling safety to management. You’ll leave with resources to help your safety committee move from compliance to having a real impact on employee safety.
