Oregon governor wants to highlight TVCC graduates

As colleges adapt to changes in our commencement activities this year, Oregon Governor Kate Brown is asking us to share stories about some of our graduates. These students will be featured in statewide stories and will be highlighted in the media.

Do you know of a student in your class that deserves recognition? The deadline for sending this information to the Governor's office is this week. Please send the student's name to Abby Lee here and she will contact the student for more information. Thanks for helping share good news about our resilient and successful students at TVCC.

STates offer varying guidance on reopening, flight labs approved

As TVCC begins to identify ways to offer more in-person instruction, we are closely following guidance from Oregon and Malheur County. At the same time, we are aware of information from Idaho that informs our ability to offer classes at our Caldwell Center. Specifically, guidance from both Oregon and Idaho allow for essential programs to continue if we adhere to social distancing and other health precautions. We have submitted a plan for beginning our flight labs to Southwest District Health in Idaho and the Malheur County Health Department in Oregon. Both groups have provided feedback and approval for the flight labs to be held this quarter.

We are still reviewing plans to begin other labs and other CTE programs as soon as we develop an appropriate plan for compliance with state guidelines. In Malheur County, we are following local recommendations and information in the county's reopening plan. Complete guidelines can be found here
