COVID-19 Update

Today marks the first day a majority of our employees are remotely working. We hope all is going well and you find some comfort in the fact that you are in the safety of your own home. Remember the following as you work from home:

  1. If you are handling sensitive information, you must use the virtual desktop.
  2. Protect the College’s equipment from damage or theft.
  3. Return phone calls and email in a prompt fashion.
  4. Remember you are at work. Do your work, but continue to take breaks as you would if you were working on campus. A work at home guide, provided by Waldo Insurance, can be found on our website.

Today, Governor Brown issued a new executive order. Individuals are still allowed to travel for work purposes. In addition, the College will continue to observe social distancing and facilitate telework and work-at-home policies to the maximum extent possible. The college will also dedicate an employee or employees to enforce social distancing, consistent with the Oregon Health Authority guidelines.

Since the computer labs will remain open to provide students with technology, it will be important to ensure the workstations are properly sanitized after every use. Please make sure you follow the rules of social distancing and allow the employees working in the lab to sanitize stations before use. The keyboards and mouse shall be wiped with Clorox wipes (do not spray the keyboard) and the provided disinfectant shall be sprayed on tables, chairs and any other touched surface.

Remember, some buildings will remain locked until April 28. The Ontario Bookstore will remain open Monday through Friday. The Residence Hall will allow NO visitors at this time. The Caldwell Bookstore will be closed until at least Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and possibly all week. Students can call in their orders to Ontario (541-881-5750 or 541-881-5746) or send an e-mail to and can pick up their orders the next day in the student services area in Caldwell. Students may also drive to Ontario to get their books, but if they do, they should call ahead to make sure the book is in stock.
