Workshops Assist Veterans in Finding Jobs

Are you a veteran who's thinking about starting a small business, or looking for a job? Two upcoming workshops at TVCC might be just what you need.

Two high-impact workshops for veterans, held Dec. 6 at the Weese Building at TVCC, will offer veterans, reserve personnel, active duty personnel and spouses the opportunity to learn how to start their own business, and give advice and helpful hints about finding a job.

The free event is open to the public. The entrepreneurship workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. The employment workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Employment workshop attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with employers who are actively seeking employees. This isn't an ordinary job fair - it is a job networking event designed to put prospective employees in front of hiring managers and decision-makers. Attendance at the employment workshop is mandatory to participate in the networking session which follows.

Space in either workshop must be reserved. To reserve a spot in the Entrepreneurship Workshop, call Debbie Wilson at 541-881-5772. To reserve a spot in the Employment Workshop and Networking Event, call Miguel Arredondo at 54-889-5394 x226. Space is limited, so reserve your space right away.

The workshops are a cooperative effort between the TVCC Small Business Development Center, Oregon Workforce Connection and Veteran Advocates of Ore-Ida.
