TVCC Hosts Alumni & Friends Reception

The Treasure Valley Community College Alumni & Friends Association invites all TVCC graduates, former students, faculty, staff and friends of the college to its first annual back-to-school social from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept.21, 2013 in the Japanese Garden at the Four Rivers Cultural Center. The event will feature a no-host bar, complimentary appetizers, music and a chance to reconnect.

Back-to-school alumni activities also include the annual Chukar Alumni Baseball tournament which features "friendly" competition between former and current Chukar baseball players on Friday, Sept. 20. The Chukar Athletic Booster Club will also host the annual Oscar Lopez Memorial Golf Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 22, which honors a former TVCC baseball player and raises funds to support college athletes.

The new TVCC Alumni & Friends Association, comprised of alumni, former students, staff and friends of TVCC, was initially formed last fall to promote opportunities for alumni and friends to stay connected with TVCC through communications, programs and services that foster a lifetime relationship with the college.

"When you look across our community, it's not difficult to see the impact made by TVCC students and graduates," said TVCC President Dana Young. "From nurses and teachers, to welders and business leaders, TVCC alumni have made significant contributions to the growth and health of our community."

TVCC has created a webpage to help alumni reconnect with the College and even share their own success stories to be featured on the College website.

"The TVCC Alumni & Friends Association is an inaugural effort to showcase so many outstanding friends and former students, and to celebrate what they've accomplished since their time at TVCC," said President Young "We also look forward to hearing stories about College life and events that have happened over the past 50 years since we opened our doors."

"We really hope to see alumni and friends turn out for this event," said TVCC Foundation Executive Director Cathy Yasuda. "It's a great way to reconnect with alumni and friends, learn more about the College and make a difference for students."

Admission to the social is free, but pre-registration is requested. Please call Lisa Meyer 541-881-5586 to confirm attendance. Visit the TVCC Alumni & Friends page for more information about the Alumni & Friends Association and to share a success story.
