What We Do
The ASG President is responsible for the management of Student Leadership Team. He or she directs the team by assigning projects to each ASG member and works closely with the Activities team and the Student Life Coordinator. He or she also serves as the chair for weekly ASG meetings.
The ASG Vice President works closely with the ASG President to supervise the Student Leadership Team. He or she is also responsible for overseeing all TVCC clubs. This includes the facilitation of All Club Meetings, the management of funding requests and the club budget, and club promotion.
The Secretary is responsible for recording and publishing minutes and official documents for the Associated Student Government. He or she is also in charge of keeping a legal record of documents in the office, taking notes at weekly meetings, and understanding the budget in order to better organize the members of the ASG team.
The Administrative Senator collaborates with Treasure Valley Community College and the community to initiate the construction of important capital projects. He or she is works closely with TVCC Administration, the Foundation, and the ASG staff to complete the 10-in-10 project, a strategic plan that calls for the construction of ten capital projects in ten years. The Bistro in Barber Hall, the fountain, and the new entry way signs around campus are just a few examples of the wonderful additions that have been made to TVCC due to the Administrative Senator's efforts.
The Academic Senator is responsible for gathering information from TVCC students in order for the Associated Student Government to better serve the student body as representatives to the Administration. He is she is responsible for the coordination of communication builders between the students and ASG including surveys, focus groups, and monthly Food For Thought forums.
The Legislative Senator serves as a representative for Treasure Valley Community College on the Oregon Community College Association and focuses on statewide concerns and business relating to community college students in general. He or she is also responsible for voter registration and education drives on campus.
