About the Library
"Without words, without writing and without books there would be no history, there could be no concept of humanity."
The TVCC Library's mission is to advance creative, intellectual discovery and enrich the quality of life of our students, faculty, college staff and members of the surrounding communities by connecting people with knowledge in an inspiring and accessible environment. Simply put, the staff are committed to aiding each individual who walks through the doors of the Library, physically or virtually, to find not only the information that they are seeking but a place where the search of information is safe and accessible.
We have a great space for quiet study, getting help, or just escaping. There are quiet, comfortable spaces - couches, study carrels, and desks with plenty of outlets! - as well as individual and group study rooms. All study rooms can be reserved in advance for you or your group, and some come equipped with DVD players and teleconferencing equipment. There is also a small computer lab for student use. Bring your coffee, kick up your feet next to the fireplace, and curl up with a good book or get some quality study time in at the Library!
Looking for a great self-help book? Need a few action-packed movies for the weekend? Working on a research project about the Bauhaus movement? The library has plenty of books, CDs and DVDs that fit your needs or interests. The Library purchases materials based in no small part on faculty and patron requests, and we are constantly updating the collection to bring you the most current material available.
Library services are not limited in any way to the building we are in! The Library provides equal access to all of our resources for students regardless of their location. LibChat is available on the Library webpage to connect students off campus to TVCC librarians and staff during our open hours, and Chat with a Librarian is available for after-hours research assistance.
Through the online catalog, students can freely search through the TVCC Library as well as over 80 other Oregon libraries in the Sage Library System. This gives students direct access to the collections of all participating libraries including other academic libraries. Students can visit a Sage library in person or request items to be delivered to TVCC using the Sage catalog. The Library also uses WorldCat's services which allows students to search libraries across the United States and internationally. Students may ask a Library staff member for assistance or use the InterLibrary loan link on the Library website to borrow items not owned by TVCC or within the Sage system.

We are always looking for ways to improve library services. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.
We look forward to seeing you, inspiring you, and connecting you soon!
