BCT - About Us:

Welcome! Our woodworkers design and build everything from jewelry boxes to armoires...from woodburned artwork to complete kitchen cabinet packages...from intricately carved log beds to sleigh-style beds. They build full-sized homes, garden sheds, and playhouses. And they do it all within the walls of a medium-security state prison!
Snake River Correctional Institution is Oregon's largest prison, housing more than 3,000 medium and minimum-security inmates. The mission of the Oregon Department of Corrections is to promote public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions and reducing the risk of future criminal behavior. Oregon's Measure 17 states "All inmates of state corrections institutions shall be actively engaged full-time in work or on-the-job training."  Overhead View of SRCI
