Beginning Algebra I
This is the first of two courses. The content is introductory algebra and no familiarity with algebra is assumed. It is designed to prepare students with further study in Math 65. The ultimate goal is for the students to manipulate elementary algebraic expression and solve elementary equations. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 20 with a C or better.

Beginning Algebra II
This is the second of two courses in beginning algebra and deals with factoring, solving complex fractions, radical manipulations and quadratic equation. Prerequisite: Pass MTH 60 with a C or better.

ALGEBRA REVIEW
Studies operations in concepts of algebra including, evaluating numerical expressions, translating English into Algebra, solving various forms of first degree equations, inequalities and absolute value, solving application problems, introduction of the concept of function, solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, graphing linear functions, other functions or inequalities. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 65 with a C or better.

Intermediate Algebra
Studies operations and concepts of algebra including, operations on functions, rational and radical expressions, factoring, solving various forms of quadratic, rational and radical equations, complex numbers, graphing rational and quadratics functions, and solving application problems. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 70 with a C or better.

CONTEMPORARY MATHEMATICS Math for liberal arts majors focusing on everyday applications of mathematics. Topics include geometry, trigonometry, financial probability, statistics, US and metric measure. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 95 with a C or better.

College Algebra
Studies the relations and functions of real numbers and graphs. Includes polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 95 with a C or better and basic knowledge of a Graphic Calculator.

ELEMENTARY FUNCTIONS
Trigonometric functions with emphasis on triangles and applied problems. Calculators are used as much as possible. Topics covered include basic trigonometry functions, their graphs, trigonometry identities and equations, polar coordinates. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 111 with a C or better.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS I
Introduces mathematical language. Includes problem-solving, sets and functions, number systems, whole numbers, and number theory. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 95 with a C or better.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS II
Subjects covered include integers, rationals, irrationals, statistics and probability. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 95 with a C or better.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS III
This course covers topics in geometry. Includes definitions, triangles, polygons, area, volume, transformations and symmetries. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 95 with a C or better.

INTRODUCTION TO PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS
For students majoring in the arts, sciences, and business. The role of statistics in making inferences based on observed data. Concepts of elementary probability, descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics. Topics covered include frequency, relative frequency, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, random variable, binomial and nomal distributions, the central limit theorem, the sampling distribution of the mean, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score or pass MTH 111 or MTH 105 with a C or better.

A continuation of MTH 243 Introduction to Probability and Statistics. Topics include further work with hypothesis testing, chi-square tests, regression and correlation, analysis of variance, and nonparametric statistics. Prerequisite: Pass MTH 243 with a C or better.

Calculus with Analytic Geometry
Studies functions of real variables and solutions of equations. Includes limit, continuity and differentiation; maxima and minima, curve sketching and anti-differentiation. Prerequisite: Suitable placement test score, MTH 111, 112, 113 with C or better.

Calculus with Analytic Geometry
Studies functions of real variables and solutions of equations. Includes definite integral, and techniques of integration. Prerequisite: MTH 251 with C or better.

MATH 253 (5) (5,0,0)
Calculus with Analytic Geometry
Studies functions of real and complex variables and solutions of equations. Includes techniques of integration, indeterminate forms, differential equation, esequences adn series and polar coordinates. Prerequisite: MTH 252 with C or better.
